Remember the Polaroid?

Ok....I'm thinking I have an infatuation with Picnik all of a sudden. I love the polaroid frames. We used to have one of those cameras when I was younger{or maybe just my sister did???} Funny how it's no big deal when you see it every day, but after several years of not using one{like 20 or so} you tend to find it fascinating all over again.....
Actually my mother in law :){very sweet!} still does use hers. Pretty nifty!!
I made a few of our lil Kayden{Kater Tater} into polaroids. He is not the least bit impressed by them though ;)
Caution: A repeat of the same photo below....only in color.....I told you I had an infatuation. It'll pass in a few days......
Somehow I don't think you get the same colors with an actual polaroid camera....
Poor lil darlin.....fell and cut his eye :(

Just threw this one in for ......no reason!

My little girl......

My little girls is not so little any more....although I may not notice at times. She has grown up so fast in such a short time. I know -I know -I say that a lot. Now a pretty little young lady {sniff...sniff}...but still mama's little girl! "It's her beauty that captures your attention. It's her personality that captures your heart" **Author Unknown** "From a little girl so very small, how and when did you get so tall?"

**Karen Mortensen** It was really TOO cold and windy to be out in short sleeves! BURRRRRR........ "Don't frown. You never know who may be falling in love with your smile" **Author Unknown** My favorite!
And just one more smile.....

A Merry Christmas indeed....

We had a wonderful Christmas Day....busy...but wonderful. We always read the Christmas story from Luke chapter 2 before we open gifts. This year Bree offered to read for us. As usual I took lots of pictures but just sharing a few....
Bree got a new camera....she got one last year but it got broke along the way and she loves taking pictures so she liked the gift...
Josh played with Kayden's construction worker hat...... Here is one of Kayden's stocking stuffers....not sure what it is called but he sure likes it.....
Kayden loves Curious George and so we got him one for his stocking and when he saw it Christmas morning he ran over and grabbed it out of the stocking and said "GEORGE !" and started kissing him like he had been lost and now was found. It was so sweet. He really loves his **George**
Melissa opening her gifts....
Kayden likes hot wheels....I think he got a FEW!!!
Wade taking gifts from his stocking from Candace.....shells for his gun...that makes men happy for some reason!
A little bit of fun with my new photoshop software....Our Christmas Turkey.....We had dinner here and then went to Mountain View for dinner with family....
Christmas punch.....yummy!!! Kayden and his new friend Curious George.....
Bree and her new bomber leather fat baby boots....I think she liked those too....
Bobby listening to Bree read the Christmas story.....
Bree read our Christmas story this year....we all take turns from year to year ....
Candace got her camo fat baby boots.... Josh got Muck boots.....another guy thing I think....but it makes them happy...:)

Remembering the real reason

While thinking about all the things that still need to be done before Christmas I found myself also remembering the real reason we celebrate this Christmas season. That is the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What an awesome gift our father gave us and at the time, few really knew . I am blessed because I grew up knowing that at Christmas we celebrate Jesus' birthday but would Joseph and Mary have been treated differently in Bethlehem had all the people known she was carrying and soon to give birth to a king? Would the Inn keeper have made special preperations for their stay? Would the people who met them along the way paid closer attention to them, even if it were only to say they met the mother of the soon coming messiah? Would more people have gathered at the stable that night when she did give birth? I would say the answer would be yes but that is just my opinion. I believe God had everything planned just the way he wanted it to be though. No fancy things{because after all things are just ...things} A new mother that was most likely very humble and a loyal husband that stood by her side regardless of what others thought and would be put in charge of raising the most amazing man to ever have lived. The Bible doesn't mention Joseph much after the birth of Jesus and I wonder sometimes if he was at the crusifiction....it only mentions Mary being there of the two.
I never want to forget that this season is a season of love and celebrating a gift that would help us have the opportunity to have eternal life in Heaven. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the king. * Luke 2:11* And she brought forth her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and layed him in a manger: because there was no room for them in the inn. * Luke 2:7*
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem
Saying , Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen the star in the east and are come to worship him. *Matthew 2: 1-2
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped him; and when they had opened their treasures , they presented unto him gifts; gold, frankincense, and myrrh. *Matthew 2: 11*
And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. *Luke 2:18-19*
What a wonderful thing to celebrate......

The Burroughs family....

I'm afraid I am so far behind in some of my posts. Partly due to getting permissioin to post pictures{I always like to ask first before I post...but sometimes I forget and post without asking} and partly due to me {oh sluggish one that I am these days}. But...I do have some pictures to post of a **cute as can be **family I took pictures of a little over a week ago....
It was too cold to take pictures of the baby outside so we opted for inside shots.
Beau, Brandi, Maddison, & Brytlee Buroughs Aren't these the cutest boots? See I told you....Aren't they a cute family? Maddison was the perfect little model....
Brytlee liked the bigger than her candy cane...
Don't you just love her look here?
One of my favorites....
Maddison was the only one who could get Britlee to smile here.... Such a pretty little gift....
And then we had to take a binky break, so I got one of that too. Binkys are important accessories to little ladies like her.
