Terribly dissapointed.....

May I Vent a little?
{UGGGGGG}
I have subscriptions to two different wonderful photography magazines {Popular Photography & Shutterbug}, and a few months back I had a little card inside my Popular Photography magazine to get a year of Popular Photography and a year of American Photo for $14.99 {What a bargain right?...I need all the help I can get when it comes to learning about photography} Ummm.....today I recieved my first issue of American Photo and how discusting it was!!! I couldn't even enjoy reading the articles in it and in fact never got to read even one page of the magazine because of all the nude pictures in it! I thought at first I would just fold over the page{s} that had pictures onit that I didn't EVEN want to see, let alone anyone else I knew .....but every few pages there was something that was either nudity or partial nudity . It made me feel ashamed for even ordering the magazine. Needless to say it had a total life span in my home of a few short minutes and that was including the time it took Bree to bring in the mail, it's few short minutes on my kitchen table till I found it and the trip to the TRASH CAN! I certainly hope next months issue will NOT be anything like this months. So just in case you were planning on running out to buy this months issue of American Photo, I could save you some time. It's Awful!

Cora's playground

Last week Jamie {Life as a Photo} had a blog post about a little baby girl named Cora. I read the blog posts with a heavy and saddened heart. Thanks Jamie for sharing it on your blog. It helps to remind us that nothing is forever and we should make everyday count and give God the glory in all things.........
I added the Coras Playground button on the side of my page. The proceeds from the sales of these items go to build a playground in memory of Cora. It is such a wonderfully inspiring but very sad story . If you would like to read more about little Cora go to http://themcclenahans.blogspot.com/

Simple little Words of Wisdom....

My {southern friend} Sherri Scott sent me this e-mail this morning and I thought it was beautiful so I decided to post it on here and add my own pictures, to make it more personal for me.......
'Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.' 1. Pray
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places. 9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns . If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday. 16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough rest
18. Eat right.
19 Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people. {Josh at VBS***A rootin-tootin-bubba tooth wearin' cowboy} 25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good 'Thank you Jesus .'
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can). 31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
32. Sit on your ego
33 Talk less; listen more.
34. Slow down.
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36 Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before.
GOD HAS A WAYOF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU. 'If God is for us, who can be against us?'(Romans8:31)
I'd love to see your version of these wonderful words of wisdom using your own pictures....if you decide to do this send me a link so I can take a peek.......

But I do look forward to next week when he gets back home........

Well, it isn't broke....

Well, we were thinking Bree had a new fracture in her foot {coming to this conclusion after the swelling, pain and Physical Trainer that seen her at schools opinion}
Today we had x-rays and according to the Dr. it's not broken, or fractured...only a sprain. He says it will be better by Monday-which sounds really good EXCEPT she has had this for about three weeks ?????? Guess we'll know Monday huh?

Crazy morning!!!!

My husband must be the most patient ....calm man I know.
BECAUSE....... This morning I woke up at 4:50 with a MIGRAINE :{ (UGGG!) but I dozed back off a few minutes thinking I still had 10-15 minutes till it was time to get up.......I usually get up around this time..... AHHHHHHH...........The next time I rolled over to look at the alarm clock it looked like THIS !!!! And I need to be at work at..... I hate waking up late! But the power went off yesterday and when the alarm clock was reset it was set for p.m. instead of a.m. !!! But my sweet husband .....so very calmly {while I was running around like someone set me on fire} managed to call my boss to let her know I would be late, make me a cup of coffee{which I only got about 3 drinks of} got me an Imitrex ready for my migraine, made Briannas lunch and started my vehicle......all so very calm- like, while I was ....... getting dressed in record time, putting on my makeup{which I'm sure looked like I got up late and just threw it on anyway}, straightning my oh so curly in the morning hair{even my morning ***went to bed with my hair wet and it dried crazy***hairdo didn't alarm him!} Nothing....no excitement......no rush....no nothing! He is AMAZING!!! Is your husband that way? I could only hope to be so calm in rushed situations. For some reason being rushed or LATE puts me directly in PANIC mode! Have a wonderful panic free Thursday!

The safest place.....

I recieved this little goody in an e-mail from my Southern friend Sherri today and it was so very good, I just had to share it with you!
How to stay safe in the world today. 1. Avoid riding in automobiles because they are responsible for 20% of all fatal accidents. 2. Do not stay home because 17% of all accidents occur in the home. 3. Avoid walking on streets or sidewalks because 14% of all accidents occur to pedestrians. 4. Avoid traveling by air, rail, or water because 16% of all accidents involve these forms of transportation. 5. Of the remaining 33%, 32% of all deaths occur in Hospitals. So, above all else, avoid hospitals. BUT, you will be pleased to learn that only .001% of all deaths occur in worship services in church, and these are usually related to previous physical disorders. Therefore, logic tells us that the safest place for you to be at any given point in time is at church! And Bible study is safe also! The percentage of deaths during Bible study is even less. So, Attend church, and read your Bible IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!

My little Monday....

I am still home recovering from the {you'll feel much better} gallbladder surgery. And although I am feeling some better and getting around better {but slow} I really thought I would just bounce right back and be ready to go by this morning, but since that didn't exactly happen I had to take a few more days off work which makes me feel so very guilty because I know someone is taking up the slack for me.
So anyway, I am wisely/unwisely {depends on how you look at it I reckon} using my time off to rest, read , stalk blogs etc....and I am so excited that now one of my dearest friends Jessica has her own blog so now I can sneak off into her world and see what is happening. I miss seeing them so much! Today she wrote about Jathan and Jared{2 of my other favorite people =) } SUCH SWEET POSTS !!!They both are so absolutely adorable and even at such young ages they are the most compassionate little children I know of. Their mama and daddy have done such a good job with them. I have also been reading the book "The Parting" by Beverly Lewis. It is the first of 3 I think in a new series. I love reading Amish novels for some reason. I am almost done with it and somehow it always makes me kinda sad when I get to the end of one book until I start the next one. And just when you really get interested in the whole series of a certain characters life.......the whole thing ends. Why do I put myself through this? NOW.......since I am feeling somewhat better today I think I will cook my sweet husband and daughter dinner.{of sorts} They have really been such good sports to let Sonic, Subway, and McDonalds cook for them the past few days.

do good......

This just about sums it up......If we could keep these two words in mind throughout our days, wouldn't we all make better choices in what we do or say?
{simple enough...RIGHT? }
You can find this and many other cute sayings here : www.homegrownhospitality.typepad.com
This blog is so cute!!!

Jesse......

Saturday we went to my neices baby shower and the sweet handsome Jesse was there to offer his help. He was such a sweet lil thing helping where ever he could and even taking pictures of everything Lacey got at her shower. Now how many 15 year old boys do you know that are willing to do that on a Saturday for a bunch of oooing and awwwwing women? Then he let me snap a few shots of his cut little self. At least I think he let me....he stood there and I took pictures. We'll say he let
me =) !
I will have pics of the shower soon....Warning....they are not real great cause I wasn't feeling very well that day so I think I just took some and didn't focus on making them as nice as I should have{shame on Me!} I will post them soon, but wanted to share a few of my cutie pie nephew for now!!
I think Bree likes this one best.....
He is such a sweet Boy!!!

Feeling a little Yucky......

Feeling a little yucky today. I had my gallbladder removed yesterday. It was only working 1% of the time which would explain my ongoing , almost never ending sick stomach. Now hopefully after a few more days of R & R I will be up and going again...minus the yuck. I have had the sweetest nurse taking care of me {Bobby} He has been wonderful! Makes me feel bad when others take care of me. I'm supposed to be doing that.
Kayden update...His new favorite movie is Cars...he loves Queen and Sabby{Lightnigng McQueen and Sally} and loves the part where it says I think we got us a nodder! so cute. He is still a cell phone addict. I have never seen a one year old who loves cell phones like he does. He loves to drink coppy{coffee} from a tiny coffee cup. His mama put a stop to that after he had 2 cups of coppy with grammy a few days ago and had tantrums all morning. I have to agree....no caffine is good for him. Too much coppy makes for a fussy Kayden. He has learned to open doors so unless its locked no place is off limits to him anymore. He loves setting at my Perter{computer} and typing...even if it's not on =).
He loves Mamy{Amy our pastors daughter}
He is such an amazing little thing. Candace said this morning he woke her up giving her kisses. How sweet is that?
Bree update.....she has re-injured her ankle or re-fractured it, one or the other....she is determined to finish out the season so we are hoping she can with a lot of tape and ice =(. She is growing up so much and her relationshop with God is growing also. She amazes me. The other day I had found out that she would have a ballgame Wednesday night(last night) Her response to that is "I can't go then...I have church"{now that does a mama's heart good to hear }
Candace.....is growing more and more tummy wise. She still hasn't been able to see the Dr. yet...waiting on medicaid to be approved. She has felt the baby move...YAY! I keep telling her I want it to be a girl so I can put lots of bows and frills on her. Really I want to put her in a tutu and take her picture. Just doesn't look right doing tht to a little boy. I think she is going to name her Jaycie if it is a girl. No definate boys names yet though. Honestly..a boy or girl would be fine with me!
Josh and Melissa.....are gone on a birthday for Melissa getaway. That is so sweet. Today is Melissas birthday! They are stilll without power from the ice storm so this is a good time for a get away .
Bobby.... is still the sweetest husband in the world.....still having major back pain....and still as busy as ever. He will be going to Shreveprot La. at the end of the month for a BASS tournament{to work...not to fish}I will miss him so much. Don't like it when he is gone....EVER!
Ok...I am all updated I think, so now I'm going to rest somewhere else.
Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Ice Storm......

Wow!!! Was that an ice storm or WHAT????? The first night wasn't as bad as the second. And on the thrid night it sounded like gunfire in our yard! Now our trees look like we have had a tornado again. hardly any tops left in them....I did get some pictures, and for the most part the ice was very pretty but I haven't had much time to edit the pictures much since we just got our power back on last night. We are very fortunate though because there are still a lot who don't have power back on yet, and we did get to use generators. We do have school again tomorrow so I am thinking most of us have our power back on.
This is our road after the 2nd round of ice.... and a little snow.... Kayden and Bree had fun riding the 4 wheeler.......
frozen fence line........
BURRRR.......now that's cold......
Glad to be thawed out but I'd still like to see snow.......just snow......and lots of it!!!!! =)
